This project consisted of the supply of a new 680kVA, 3 phase, 50 Htz Standby Generator for a major tower development in London.
We had to work closely with the clients to project manage the delivery as we had strict timings for access and the use of the site tower crane. The delivery was completed on a Saturday and the Generator was crane lifted into the basement car park area and skated by a shentongroup movement team into its final position in the Generator Room.
Our shentongroup Projects Team then completed installation of the exhaust flu and hot air ductwork in line with the specification. The twin walled exhaust exited the tower at roof level (13 floors up) and the hot air ductwork was routed to the basement car park area. On the hot air outlet a Bifurcated Fan was used to ensure the engine specification on the cooling air was met. We at shentongroup also worked with other trades onsite to ensure the louvres on the air outlet operated in line with the fire alarm system and that the Generator was fully monitored on the Building Management System.
Prior to the Generator delivery shentongroup carried out a Factory Test to the client’s specification and on completion of the installation a Full Site Commission was carried out. As a result of our hard work and attention to detail we have now secured regular repeat business with this large electrical contractor.
