Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

At Shenton Group, Factory Acceptance Testing isn’t a checkbox, it’s a commitment. We rigorously test every generator system before it leaves our facility, ensuring it performs exactly as specified and delivers total peace of mind when it matters most.

What is FAT?

Factory Acceptance Testing is a critical stage in our quality assurance process. It verifies that your equipment:

  • Is correctly assembled and manufactured
  • Operates to specification under simulated real-world conditions
  • Meets all advertised ratings and performance criteria
  • Is ready for seamless integration on site

Our Testing Philosophy

We don’t settle for “good enough.”

  • Every system is run and rerun until we’re completely satisfied
  • Pre-FAT tests are conducted to eliminate surprises and ensure smooth final testing
  • Only trained specifically engineers work on live generator sets, with full safety protocols in place

What’s Included in a FAT?

Test Cell or External Setup

  • Simulated load conditions
  • Emergency stop functionality checks
  • Control panel and switchgear integration
  • Fuel system performance (if applicable)
  • Acoustic and emissions verification (where required)

Documentation & Reporting

  • Handwritten or typed FAT documents (customer preference)
  • Transient reports appended to final scan
  • Signed acceptance forms for compliance and traceability.

Customer Experience

  • Dedicated meeting room with refreshments
  • Goody bags and safety gear provided
  • Dietary requirements accommodated
  • Optional attendance by sales and project teams

Safety & Compliance

Our FAT procedures are governed by strict safety and environmental protocols:

  • Risk assessments and RAMS documentation
  • PPE and manual handling standards
  • Emergency procedures and first aid provision
  • Electrical isolation and tool control

Beyond FAT: Integrated Testing

We also offer:

  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) – Verifying equipment post-delivery
  • Integrated Systems Testing (IST) – Ensuring full system functionality across components
