Bournemouth College air condition their Decant Building

"The installation was professionally carried out with fully certified engineers, within a demanding timescale and most importantly of all with optimum safety, particularly where installation of the condensers involved working at height"

Stephen Pester, Projects Manager - County Cabins

Bournemouth College air condition their Decant Building When Bournemouth College were awarded a £60 million grant to demolish part of their building and replace it with a state of the art glass fronted piece of architecture, they were faced with the challenge of where to decant their students to during the project.

Having decided that modular buildings were the best way forward they commissioned their building contractors to erect a 2 storey building containing 23 classrooms.

In order to meet Part L of the Building Regulations the contractors identified air conditioning heat pumps as the most cost effective solution for heating and this is where Celtaire came into the equation.

The Celtaire sales engineers came up with a design based on 23 x Fujitsu 7.1kW air conditioning heat pumps. Fujitsu were the chosen manufacturer due to their availability, impressive after sales service and value for money pricing structure.

With the building earmarked to house a large number of the courses taught at Bournemouth College the positioning of the condensers in a secure, inaccessible area was of utmost importance. This and the need for all internal pipe work to be concealed led to a more complicated installation but in Celtaire’s eyes a none the less achievable one.

This was successfully accomplished by running the pipe work across the internal corridor, in the small ceiling void available, to the condensers positioned in the external alley way central to the building. The electrical cabling and condensate drainage also followed the same route. All 23 systems were fitted with the Sauermann Delta Pack condensate drain pumps so well suited for use in small spaces.

The end result was a tidy, quality and professional installation complemented by a very happy Bournemouth College.

County Cabins supplies new Computer Room to the Army

"Celtaire’s site operatives were clean and tidy, courteous and professional in their conduct. The installation was completed within the original budget and to our customers’ total satisfaction"

Brian Pester, Projects Manager - County Cabins

When the Army at Trenchard Lines in Upavon awarded a contract for a complete new server room to be supplied in modular buildings, County Cabins one of the countries leading specialists called upon Celtaire to provide and install the air conditioning systems so essential for the successful and continuous operation of any computer installation.

Following a detailed survey by the Celtaire engineer the arrangement of the server racks highlighted a potential problem with the formation of static air pockets in the room. The recommended solution was to fit a series of Daikin Inverter driven, wall mounted, heating and cooling Air Conditioning units each rated at 10kW and piped to the outside through the wall of each cabin. After detailed planning and subsequent approval by the Army and County Cabins, Celtaire were awarded the contract and installed six of the Daikin units in a contract that includes annual service and maintenance.

The Daikin units were recommended for their ease of use, reliability and the availability of backup and spare parts through a UK wide network of suppliers.

The contract was completed on time and on budget to the customer’s complete satisfaction.

Stannah Stairlifts updates I.T. Department

"The installation of the Air Conditioning was completed on time and to our complete satisfaction, the engineers were very professional and the systems have worked perfectly from day one"

Martin Carter, IT Manager - Stannah Stairlifts

Stannah Lifts in Andover are one of the countries best known manufactures of lifts and lifting systems. Due to a rapid expansion they needed to expand their IT Department but lack of space dictated that modular buildings were the best solution and these were supplied by County Cabins.

A reliable and efficient heating and cooling Air Conditioning system was critical for the reliable operation of the IT systems.

As the recognised local installation and service agent for Daikin Air Conditioning Systems, County Cabins contacted Celtaire to quote for the supply and fitting of a suitable system. After completing a detailed design study, Celtaire offered a solution which included the installation of three 2kW and four 6kW wall mounted, Daikin inverter driven units. The contract was awarded and the supply and fitting of each unit was undertaken during the fit out of the buildings at the customer’s site. The whole project was completed on time and on budget and ensured that Stannah’s new IT suite was up and running within the agreed timescales.

Included in the Celtaire contract is regular maintenance and service which will be undertaken from our Andover offices.

Hill Brothers Nursery splash out on new Plant

"Celtaire completed the project to my complete satisfaction, and have handed over a system which is straight forward to use and heats up our offices very quickly"

Gregg Hill, Director – Hill Brothers Ltd

Due to the fluctuating temperatures of a predominantly glass office block and the wish of the owners to have all pipe work concealed, this was not a job for the faint hearted. However, with the support of Daikin UK, and the never say die attitude of the Celtaire design team a solution was always just around the corner.

Eight Daikin wall mounted units were selected to tie in with the overall look of the interior as well as Multi Split condensers to lessen the impact on the building externally.

With all the pipe work to be concealed in the walls it was essential that Celtaire worked alongside the interior solutions company as much as possible. After an initial first fix period over a week the remainder of the project was completed in the following three weeks with the engineers returning to site whenever it suited the rest of the trades present.

The end result was a professional installation, completed on time and to the customer’s total satisfaction.
