To the delight of all shentongroup staff members, shentongroup’s Generator Team became that bit more complete again in Feb 2018, thanks to Generator Mechanical Engineer, Andy Ralph, returning to work following a heart attack and subsequent rehabilitation.

The news that Andy had suffered what was classed as a severe-to-life-threatening heart attack in January 2018 was a shock to all of us and we all eagerly followed the progress of his 8-week course of rehabilitation through the NHS, which was followed by a program of gymnasium sessions and diet. To the delight of his family and co-workers alike, Andy’s heart attack has since been reclassified as ‘minor’ and he has made a full recovery.

Understandably, Andy was a little concerned prior to coming back to work and taking on his very much hands-on role here at shentongroup. The shentongroup team ensured his gentle reintroduction though, assigning him only lighter duties, gradually introducing him back up to working full time and providing him with a strong network of support.

“I was blown away by the backing I’ve received throughout”, Andy stated. He added: “Operations Manager, Lorraine, even drove to visit my wife and I with a bouquet of flowers, offering to provide any help or assistance that we might need throughout this challenging period”.

From the entire shentongroup team, welcome back to work Andy and congratulations on such an outstanding recovery.
