On Thursday, 26 February, Shenton Group staff from across the UK gathered at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton for the 2026 Annual Staff Event. The day brought colleagues together in person, moving beyond voices on the phone or faces on Teams, and offered a rare chance for team members from different regions and departments to connect, catch up and reflect on a year of progress and achievements across the business.

2025 Performance Review and Forward Planning

The event opened with a review of our 2025 financial performance by the CFO, followed by an update on our five-year plan from the CEO, Curtis Meek. The Senior Leadership Team then shared their department’s achievements from 2025 and outlined their priorities for the year ahead. The updates reflected a year of strong growth and continued investment in the systems, services, and capabilities that support clients across the UK. The morning struck a good balance between structured updates and lighter moments, which created an atmosphere that kept colleagues engaged throughout.

Record Financial Results and Ambitious Growth Plans

One of the key announcements was that Shenton Group had exceeded its 2025 sales targets and delivered a record EBITDA, due to its continued growth across Projects, Maintenance, and Rental departments in key sectors. This, coupled with leadership’s ambitious plans across the business, made for a very positive event.

“The financial performance of 2025 reflects the unbelievable efforts of the whole team, which is a reflection of the company’s ambitions. Delivering consistent EBITDA growth for a third year is a testament to how everyone in the business has bought into the long-term growth plans of the business.”

New Reward Schemes to Encourage Innovation

New reward schemes were introduced during the morning’s sessions, aimed at recognising colleagues who contribute to new ideas, drive efficiencies, or deliver exceptional client service. The schemes form part of the company’s wider commitment to continuous improvement and to acknowledging the initiative shown across teams.

Open Q&A With Senior Leadership

An open Q&A session followed, giving staff the opportunity to speak directly with the Board and Senior Leadership Team. Questions and feedback ranged widely, reflecting the varied experiences of colleagues working across different functions and parts of the country.

Guest Speaker: Francis “Franny” Benali

The presentations concluded with an engaging talk from Southampton FC legend Francis “Franny” Benali, who spoke about the importance of resilience, teamwork and consistency. These themes resonated strongly with many in the room, given the nature of the company’s work.

Team Time at St Mary’s Stadium

The day was rounded off with time in the Level 1 games area of St Mary’s Stadium, giving colleagues the chance to unwind, talk informally and enjoy a touch of friendly competition. Having joined the business in October 2025, this was the first Staff Event for Lindsay Birkenhead. “I wasn’t sure what to expect of the day,” Birkenhead said. “I’ve always felt welcome at Shenton Group, and people have always been incredibly friendly to me. But I was worried I wouldn’t know many people there overall. Getting the chance to meet people who are based on the other side of the country and having a great time while doing so was amazing. I’m already looking forward to the next one.”

Looking Ahead to 2026

As Shenton Group looks to the year ahead, the Annual Staff Event offered a clear picture of the progress made over the past year and the priorities that will guide the business in 2026. It also highlighted the importance of the people whose skills and collaboration support Shenton Group’s operations and client commitments every day.
