Friday 6th May saw a number of our key suppliers join us at our Andover HQ for what turned out to be a very successful inaugural Annual Supplier Event. At shentongroup, we’re all too aware of the importance of developing and maintaining good working relationships with suppliers we can rely on and trust. We completely understand that the cooperation and understanding we enjoy has to work both ways for us all to experience a successful future moving forwards together.
The day began with casual networking over breakfast in the Globe, our all-new staff room, after which we moved to the conference room for short presentations by management members and key suppliers. Managing Director, Jody Meek, outlined some of shentongroup’s key achievements and targets, followed by Sales and Marketing Director, Curtis Meek, who explained the company’s values and visions. Long-standing shentongroup team member, Technical Director Derek Barry, reminded attendees of shentongroup’s attention to technical detail and that, although shentongroup may seem a demanding partner to work with at times, it is because, like the clients shentongroup serves, accurate and detailed specification is imperative for any successful project delivery.
Following an insightful look back at the origins of shentongroup by founder and Strategic Planning Director, Richard Meek, and how he has handed this family-run business to the next generation, the visitors were split into teams for a grand tour of the building and grounds, where many questions were asked and answered.
A fun competition, which saw shentongroup staff vote for their favourite suppliers, resulted in Bronze being picked up by Edmundson Electrical, Silver by AJ Electrical and Gold going to Specialised Products. Key suppliers then reflected on their experiences of working together with shentongroup.
After a light lunch in the Globe, complete with live piano performances and of course, some casual networking, the day drew to an end and the suppliers went their separate ways. For many suppliers, the event served as an opportunity to put faces to names and to liaise with fellow suppliers – In effect, their wider working team in many cases. But the one firm message that came from the event for many was that honesty, trust, hard work and a shared vision will continue to drive us all forward, together as key suppliers, further cementing shentongroup’s reputation as the leading experts in Continuous Power, Uninterruptible Power Supplies and Combined Heat and Power Systems!
