New shentonGroup Structure

As regular customers and contacts will know the four companies in our group all operate autonomously from 'Shenton House' here in Andover.

The next stage in the strengthening and growth of the group will be a formal amalgamation of all four into one company. At this time the company name has not been finalised.

This change will be a gradual process over the coming months with a target date of March 2010 for completion of all the necessary legal and commercial paperwork.

All existing brands identities and products will be retained for the foreseeable future.

This change will enable us to provide customers with a single point of contact, as well as increasing our focus and commitment to further improve customer service.

Doing Nothing is No Longer an Option

No organisation, large or small, can assume immunity from disruption

What with terrorist events such as 9/11 & July 7th, increasingly extreme weather patterns, and a national power infrastructure struggling with an ever-rising demand, no organisation, large or small, can assume immunity from disruption. Disaster recovery plans need to become a necessary and integral part of every business’s resilience and, regardless of size, it is essential to incorporate an emergency power support solution as part of your business continuity plan. Doing nothing is not an option.

Never have Powercall UK been busier

During 2008 demand for Powercall has continued to grow across various market sectors

Demand for Powercall has continued to grow during 2008 across various market sectors including Healthcare, Storage and Distribution, Facilities Management, Manufacturing, and Retail. The nationwide service covers a wide range of applications but, in most cases, provides emergency power support for entire building mains power supplies. In other situations the service is utilised for backup of IT suite and essential services only (including UPS systems) to limit exposure to prolonged powercuts. Powercall has also proved a very effective answer to the challenges faced by multisite operators (including major national utility networks) who now have a cost effective solution to powercut problems 24/7/365 wherever the site location.

Sheffield and most of Gloucestershire under water and national grid power failures

Remember recent world events like Chinese earthquake, and the Burmese cyclone? Remember recent events in Britain's own backyard i.e. Sheffield and most of Gloucestershire under water, and national grid power failures to match the Great Storm of 1987?

Tuesday 27th May 2008. We cannot afford to ignore actual events; Britain suffered the most serious disruption to it's energy supply in more than 20 years on Tuesday 27th May 2008 with 500,000 homes plunged into darkness, and supplies across the country affected for around 5 hours. Hospitals, businesses, trains, traffic lights, fire brigades, lifts... the blackout wasn't selective and the effects were drastic.

"The blackouts...emphasised the growing instability of Britain's crumbling power infrastructure" (The Times, Thursday 29th May 2008). Whilst Britain's national grid creaked and groaned, Powercall subscribers enjoyed powercut peace-of-mind. Many businesses and organisations affected by the blackouts were able to continue operating throughout thanks to Powercall's Emergency Callout Generators.
