Terms & Conditions
Powercall UK Contract Terms and Operational Conditions
The Powercall contract will run for 12 calendar months from the date of the invoice. The contract is site specific and nominated by the customer prior to the preparation and registration of the contract certificate.
The contract has three cost elements:-
- A single site specific contract Registration Fee.
- A fixed monthly Retainer Fee/site.
- A Deployment Fee for each generator callout (where applicable).
Registration Fee
The Registration Fee is site specific and subject to a free site survey visit and subsequent accurate quotation. Works to include full installation of a suitably rated manual generator changeover system positioned adjacent to the mains supply equipment fed via an external wall mounted generator connection inlet. All hardware installed will remain the property of Powercall UK and would be removed in the event that a contract renewal was not purchased. At the same time a load measurement will be made during this visit and used by Powercall for the purpose of fuel usage calculations following subsequent generator deployment. Note:- Where a suitable generator connection and changeover switchgear system is already in place with no further upgrade work necessary our standard minimum Registration Fee of £195.00 +vat would apply. Upgrade works to existing systems may also constitute a reduction in Registration Fee (where applicable / subject to survey).
Retainer Fee
The Retainer Fee ensures that a suitable generator will be made available in accordance with the contract.
Deployment Fee
The charging of a Deployment Fee for each generator callout depends upon the agreement made between Powercall UK and the customer at the point of contract commencement. The availability of contracts inclusive or exclusive of Deployment Fees is entirely at the discretion of Powercall UK.
Deployment Commencement
For the purpose of the Powercall contract, deployment will be triggered by the registration of the call at the Powercall control centre using the Powercall emergency response number given in the contract, and the verbal issuing of a deployment reference number to the caller. Following call registration, any subsequent cancellation of the deployment prior to the arrival of the generator at the nominated site does not absolve the customer of the deployment fee (where applicable).
Response time
Following receipt of an emergency call Powercall UK will dispatch a fully fuelled 77 kvA generator complete with up to 10 metres of connection cables direct to the specified site with a maximum deployment time of 3 hours.
It will be the responsibility of the customer to provide access to any secured site at the time of generator deployment. Under these circumstances delays to site access and subsequent late operational deployment would not constitute a failure by Powercall UK to meet it’s contractual liabilities.
Connection
The generator will be connected to the external connection point by the delivery Engineer. Once connected the customer will select ‘generator’ using the changeover switch. Powercall UK or its representatives are not responsible for the consequences of an unsafe or unchecked electrical system. Instructions in the basic operation of the generator will be given to a nominated person at the site and a signature will be required by the delivery engineer to confirm that the system is operational and that the instructions have been received and understood. Security and insurance of the equipment whilst on the site is the customer’s responsibility.
Deployment Duration
The contract allows for the operation of the generator as a ‘Prime Power’ source for the duration of the power failure up to a maximum of 7 days per deployment. Powercall reserves the right to invoice additional charges for a single deployment of greater than 7 days. There is no limit to the number of deployments in any one 12 month contract period subject to each being caused by genuine mains power failure. Use of the Powercall generator for planned outages (i.e. maintenance shutdowns etc) will constitute a fixed fee the charging and level of which is at the discretion of Powercall UK.
Refuelling
The generator will be deployed with a full tank of diesel fuel (approx 220 litres). Fuel consumption is directly dependant on generator load. Powercall will calculate the approximate fuel consumption based on the initial load measurement made during the registration visit and advise the user when refuelling will be necessary. Powercall operate a nation-wide refuelling service and will attend a specified site (during normal working hours Monday to Friday) to refuel the set. A separate invoice will then be issued for all fuel used and charged at the Powercall UK price prevailing at the time of delivery (normally pump rates).
Deployment Termination
Following the end of the deployment, the user should contact the Powercall UK control centre who will arrange for the collection of the set from the specific site at the next available opportunity during normal working hours Monday to Friday, specific collections outside of these times may be charged extra.
Invoicing
Both the Registration Fee and the 12 month Retainer Fee will be invoiced within 30 days of the commencement of the contract. Ongoing charging of the Retainer Fee will be via monthly standing order arrangement. Alternative invoicing arrangements will need to be pre-agreed at the point of contract commencement. Payment will be due within 30 days of the date of the invoice. Powercall will invoice the deployment fee following delivery and installation of the generator (where applicable). Payment will be due within 30 days. Powercall reserve the right to refuse deployment in the event that any existing invoices for Registration Fee, Retainer Fee, or previous deployment Fee (where applicable) remain unpaid. Written cancellation of the Powercall contract may be made by the customer giving at least 3 months notice before the contract renewal date.
